JRN: “Find Your Story” Editing Cont.

I talked a bit about headlines and AP Style and using that as the scope for the next round of edits. The handouts are linked here for Headline Writing and AP Style Guides.

Tomorrow you will continue editing and making final changes, so your article is ready to be placed as a story package (headline, byline, copy (article), photo (graphic/sidebar/etc.), photo caption and credits) in Adobe InDesign along with a partner’s story package on Wednesday. You can start messing around in InDesign if you finish editing and having two people edit your story. Use the linked help or Google for assistance. Use samples from The Spectator or other news sources online for example layouts. We will continue with layout/design in InDesign on Wednesday. Make sure your article is in the best possible shape by that day.

The feature story returned to you with edits will be due back to me with changes made by Friday 10/7.
