Honors 11: DuBois and Stevenson

We spent the first part of the hour discussing and sharing moments of importance from DuBois’ “Strivings of the Negro People.” These were some of the significant quotes/ideas/questions derived from those conversations. We then discussed as a class. After this, we began watching Bryan Stevenson’s 2012 TEDtalk on injustice in the justice system and the concept of identity. Finish the video for homework (3rd hour left off at 10:20, 5th hour left off at 12:15, and 6th hour left off at 5:32), and continue taking notes on the back of Fortgang’s article.
