Honors 11: Fortgang and McIntosh on White Privilege

We started the hour in small groups discussing and sharing our thoughts/responses to Fortgang and McIntosh, the readings from yesterday. We then came back together as a class to discuss key moments in their arguments/claims, and questions that stem from their conversations about the concept of white privilege and checking one’s privilege. I then assigned W.E.B Du Bois“Strivings of the Negro People” to read and annotate as needed for tomorrow as well as Ta-Nehisi Coates“The Case for Reparations” for Thursday.
