Honors 11: Introduction to Final Unit

We first introduced the unit calendar for the last three weeks before finals after filling out our globalization essay rubrics. Afterwards, we read and discussed Tal Fortgang’s “White Privilege” (here’s the online copy with some really insightful and /or nonsensical/horrifying comments if you’re interested as well as a response from The Guardian to his article) piece before beginning to delve into Peggy McIntosh’s “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack.” For homework, you are to write a paragraph of summary (what does she say?) of the McIntosh essay as well as a paragraph of response (i.e. what you feel about what she said) for tomorrow. Feel free to synthesize both sources in your response. You may do so on the McIntosh piece or on a separate piece of paper.
