We continued watching the video regarding Detroit and our country’s history of institutional racism from Friday, but because it was so cold in the room, I said we should finish watching tomorrow (we left off at 7:00 approx.), so we could go elsewhere and continue with our notes.
Afterwards, we went to the Collab. Center and took these notes in our notebooks, and we then began reading as a class the first few pages of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun (the pdf is linked). We got to Travis Younger’s line that says, “Mama, could I please go carry groceries?”
We submitted our notebooks and our Catcher novels. We also filled out a rubric for my grading of your Catcher response papers that were due this morning.
