Honors 11: Kincaid and The Method and Pratt

We first wrapped up our conversation regarding Kincaid’s chapter of A Small Place. Afterwards, we got into groups based on our method text selection and worked together to share out and add to our own notes. Some hours were able to watch the TedTalk by Chang and the Op-Doc by Ferdous and share cross text sets the juxtaposed voices we saw and will see. We got back into our groups to write a strong claim that involves each voice present and even those left out (Given Z, this seems to be about X, but it is really about Y). Here were the directions for the sharing of the Method work today. You did not turn this in today, but we will deal with it on Monday. With any time remaining, you got started reading and annotating this piece by Mary Louise Pratt, titled “Arts of the Contact Zone” for Monday. Do not worry about writing a summative claim of her argument right now. We will deal with that Monday.
