English 10: Intro to Shakespeare

We began the hour by completing a bell work regarding the following questions: What makes a text difficult to read? What challenges do you face when reading? Do you find Shakespeare (you read Romeo and Juliet last year) to be easy or difficult or somewhere in between?

We then went through the calendar for our unit, and from there we got out our intelligent phones and looked up the answers to the attached questions about the Bard himself, William Shakespeare. We will continue to discuss him, the Globe Theatre, and the historical context surrounding our play’s namesake, Julius Caesar, tomorrow. No homework tonight!
