Honors 11: Ch. 14-15 Discussion

We spent the first part of the hour talking about changes to the calendar/schedule for the rest of the semester before finals. So, here’s the deal:

I stamped in and we discussed the first 3 questions on the Ch. 14-16 discussion guide. You added in another color to your notes. I’m going to move the due date for the Vedder lyric annotations (2 colors-trans. and ITW) or the writing of a 20-line transcendental poem of your own to be due Friday, the 22nd. That will also be stamped in for completion, and discussed Friday (submitted next Thursday 1/28 or Friday 1/29–depending on when your exam takes place–with your Ch. 1-16 questions and “Civil Disobedience” qs).

Next, we spent the remainder of the hour editing our personal narrative fuller drafts using this peer editing sheet. We will need to finish editing first thing tomorrow after looking at another narrative example. The final draft, with all drafts and editing sheets is due Monday, Jan. 25th (hard copy in class and electronic on turnitin.com by 7:40 a.m. Monday morning).

With the remaining time tomorrow, we will work to develop and add to our Ch. 14-16 qs along with adding important ideas garnered from Ch. 17.

Finally, the extra credit Walden/Self-Reliance/My Upper Peninsula response due date will be moved to Sunday night by midnight to turnitin.com.

Homework for tomorrow: Ch. 16-17 of ITW (finish the novel for Friday)

We will watch some of the movie on Monday and review on Tuesday.

P.S. Your AP Lit Style Practice Responses are graded (I added a point to the grade given if you attempted to be a FIREBREATHER, and you should be able to see by my comments what a point or two was removed for).
