Honors 11: Ch. 11-13 of ITW and PN Peer Editing

We first briefly discussed our Ch. 11-13 questions after I stamped then in.

Afterwards, we started doing a bit of peer editing with a focus area towards descriptive details and imagery in our personal narratives. The full draft with part 2 added on is due next Wednesday 1/20.

We then got started going over the difference between active and passive voice using these handouts.

Homework for Tuesday, 1/19: Ch. 14-15 of ITW + read through active/passive voice handouts

Also, here are some optional readings to check out: Jim Harrison‘s “My Upper Peninsula”, an excerpt from Thoreau’s “Walden”, and Emerson’s “Self-Reliance.” We will not have time to read them in class, but please feel free to check all or one of them out. If you write a 250 word response to ONE of them (or one response concerning references to more than one piece), I will give you 5 pts. e.c. on your ITW questions packets to be submitted next Friday 1/22. (Response can be submitted to my email by that day).
