We started the hour by returning our Ch. 1-2 discussion guides and Ch. 1-4 quizzes. Next, I talked to you a bit about rhetorical strategies and the importance of understanding those not only for the SAT but it is important that we learn to read like writers and write like readers. You had a packet that contained these two handouts that depicted what one should look for to understand an author’s purpose. You were also given this passage (just the first one) from Ch. 3 of AF with which you were to annotate/highlight and fill out this corresponding chart. This needed to be brought up to me completed prior to reading and writing annotations for Ch. 5.
