English 10: Russian Revolution and Animal Farm Begins

We first completed a bell work in our notebooks regarding the “Our Country” projects. I asked you to consider how it went, if you enjoyed creating the project and which parts specifically you enjoyed constructing, if you played an important role and how so, and lastly, how this project, even though it was supposed to be fun and a little silly, helped you to understand the role of government/how people in charge make decisions, etc. We then discussed.

Next, we took notes in our notebooks (just on the timeline portions that say “in your notes”) with this PowerPoint to reinforce what you learned on Friday during the webquest. Here’s some more notes just in case concerning the timeline from 1848-1945. Also, please finish the Webquest as soon as you have a chance and have it stamped in.

We then began reading Ch. 1 of Animal Farm in class. We will read through Ch. 2 by tomorrow. You are completing 5+ annotations per chapter. The more you do the better. We will discuss these chapters tomorrow.
