Honors 11: Ch. 8 and “Ozymandias”

We started the hour watching the “Can’t Repeat the past?” scene along with the scene with the confrontation at the Plaza from Ch. 7 before delving into our Ch. 8 questions. While you were watching, I stamped in “Ozymandias” annotations and Ch. 8 questions and asked you for your word for the Definition Essay. We went over Ch. 8 q’s and then got into small groups to share our annotations on the first sonnet after watching Brian Cranston read it for a Breaking Bad trailer. His voice rules.

Homework: Read Ch. 9 (finish the book) first before reading the short supplement attached to your “Ozymandias” sonnets (answer the 3/5 questions at the end of the packet on a separate sheet of paper).

We will discuss the end of the novel and then we will do so in relation to “Ozymandias” on Monday.

Here’s the Gatsby exam review in case you’re interested to get started early.

Also, if you’re interested, here’s an excerpt of a paper analyzing the brief reference to the often overlooked character, Blocks Biloxi.
