Honors 11: “Wasteland” cont. + Ch. 4-5 of Gatsby

We first finished up our “Wasteland” conversation and constructed a claim at the bottom of our poem as if we were to write a response (which we are not). We then turned in the poem annotations along with the Gatsby/”Wasteland” poem connections (we only had time for you to share in partners) as well as the “Ode to a Nightingale” annotations. Here are “Wasteland” class annotations from 3rd, 5th and 6th hours.

After, we took a Ch. 4 PID/Ch. 5 quiz before getting to work on these Ch. 4-5 questions we will continue to work on and discuss tomorrow.

Homework: Read this excerpt from Maureen Corrigan’s “So We Read On: How The Great Gatsby Came to be and Why it Evolves.” If you are reading this online and not in hard copy, there is a spoiler we missed on the top of pg. 101, so try to just skip that paragraph.
