Honors 11: Theme and Poetry Work for Grapes

We had to first finish our small group thematic presentations from Friday. You guys did very well and grades will be in later.

I also let most of the hours know their summer quote work has been graded and entered and to look to turnitin.com for their specific grade explanation and then here for the full rubric I worked from. Impromptus are not yet graded.

Afterwards, we got into small groups with people who had our same poem from over the weekend. We added, in a different color, notes from our new group members. We then had one volunteer from each poem team to work to teach the class about their poem and connections they made to Grapes using their group members to help accomplish this task. We will need to finish tomorrow.

Finally, I assigned the Shockley reading for tonight along with this summary and response assignment due to turnitin.com by 11:59 pm tonight. I also showed you some examples and provided some extra challenges to adhere to when writing your response including using embedded evidence and not using first/second person. Here’s an example. You also do not need to use parenthetical citations this time around.
