English 10: Picture Day + Journaling

This hour got a bit messed up due to pictures, and that is an understatement. We will begin the hour tomorrow playing the “OK go–Say the same thing” game. I will then talk about the journals you completed in your new notebook tomorrow before continuing to work on our summer reading work from today. You are to do the front and back of the first page of this worksheet for tomorrow. We will complete it then, so do as much as you can of the first two pages (if anything is confusing, we can talk about it tomorrow). Feel free to use a list/fragmented format OR complete sentences.

The journals we completed (on the same page or on a new page) were:

  1. Tell me about your previous English experience. Was it good or bad? Why or why not? Explain in 5+ complete sentences (no teacher names).
  2. How can I make 10th grade English the best possible experience for you? Be realistic (saying no reading or writing assignments is not realistic). Explain in 2-3 complete sentences.
  3. What are your strengths and weaknesses? These can be general or more school/English related. Explain in 3-5 complete sentences.
  4. Write down 5 goals in list form that you have for this school year.
