English 10: SAT-Style Impromptu Day

I threw you for a loop today with introducing a new type of essay that was in the style of the SAT you will be taking next year. It was difficult. You had to read an essay and write a well-organized essay in which you analyzed how effective the author was in building his/their argument. I know it was new and scary, but you’re doing great. We will have 20 minutes tomorrow to finish and upload to turnitin.com. I’m proud of you!

Here is third hour’s essay and associated assignment, and here is sixth hour’s essay and assignment. Attached are also the rhetorical devices I gave you as well.

HOMEWORK: Your Catcher Creative Project is due tomorrow in class. We will share out a few before beginning to introduce A Raisin in the Sun. You can turn in your Catcher books tomorrow.
