Honors 11: Introduction Paragraphs, cont.

We work shopped our introduction paragraphs today in class in small groups, paying close attention to how our flash point is used, the flow into introducing our topic/globalization and the construction of our initial claim. We also worked to remove any intial bias on our side (judgmental language can come later :)). I also pointed you to pgs. 226-229 in the chapter from yesterday’s reading that discusses other options for creating introduction paragraphs if you were not yet happy with yours at the time being. I checked your paragraphs in for points.

We will be in the innovation center tomorrow working on a citations handout and then spending time on our essays. The first full draft of your essay is due next Wednesday (5/6).

Homework for Friday: Stephen Duncombe’s Cultural Resistance Reader (read and annotate as needed).
