English 10: Ch. 20-22, cont. + Title Significance

We began by sharing out some of the significant quotes found yesterday from Ch. 20-22 as a class. You guys cam up with some insightful, analytic ideas.

We then went through the modern translation of this poem by Robert Burns titled “Comin’ Thro’ The Rye” and annotated it with an eye to understanding its meaning through the book’s lens.  I had you then answer these questions concerning the title’s significance in terms of the poem we annotated together. I gave you points for taking notes/answering the questions.

Next, we listened to Simon and Garfunkel’s “I am a Rock” with the lyrics in front of us. As we listened we annotated the lyrics, depicting any connection we could make to our novel. Your homework for Thursday is to do the same with a song of your choosing. I gave some extras in case you have trouble finding one.

HOMEWORK FOR THURSDAY: song lyric annotations + Ch. 23-25 (and annotations, as always)
