English 10: Intro to Employability Unit

I had you get out your notebooks today after I answered any final, general questions concerning the Julius Caesar essay DUE SUNDAY BY 11:59 P.M. TO TURNITIN.COM. I then asked you the following to be answered on a clean page in your notebooks: 1. What do I have to offer a job? 2. What do you think employers look for in their employees? 3. What job do I see myself having in the future?

Ultimately, the purpose of this unit is to get you to write a resume, and to prepare you for the Mock Interviews in May. Throughout this short unit, hopefully you will feel more comfortable and prepared for the eventuality of applying for, interviewing for and the having of a certain job. We worked on filling out this worksheet first and then began sharing our thoughts as a class. We will need to continue tomorrow.

Homework: Use the peer editing checklist from Wednesday to work on perfecting your paper!
