Honors 11: “A Primer of Existentialism” + “Myth of Sisyphus”

We began the day by creating a claim for “The Wall” regarding what existentialist idea is most clearly embodied in the short story, as a sort of bell work. We did so on the chart we were working to fill out yesterday (it will be turned in this week). We then began looking at the QTIs you came up with in order to guide our conversation regarding Bigelow’s “A Primer of Existentialism” (here’s last year’s QTIs if you’re interested). We will continue with that article tomorrow before we discuss your readings for tonight: “The Myth of Sisyphus” by Albert Camus and the introduction to the Myth of Sisyphus by Svenja Schrahe, a literature/myth professor/writer/editor. Here’s some general FYI background on Camus. Read and annotate as needed.
