English 10: Julius Caesar Introduction with Shakespeare himself

Today, we worked to quickly refresh our memories regarding the Bard of Avon, William Shakespeare, the author of our play, Julius Caesar. We took notes on some biographical background for Bill while answering these questions. Here’s the calendar for the unit. I also gave you this handout titled “How to Read Shakespeare,” and here’s some more information on his writing. We also talked a bit about the stage, and more specifically, the Globe Theater where most of his plays were performed. We will pick up with some background on Julius Caesar circa 44 BC tomorrow.
