Honors 11: End of Into the Wild

We began the day sharing lines that were most clearly embodying Chris/Alex and/or transcendentalist thinking from your selected Eddie Vedder song from the Into the Wild soundtrack. I checked the annotations in for points along with your Ch. 14-17 work.

We then discussed Ch. 18 and read the epilogue together as a class. We talked about our feelings concerning the end of the book and the novel as a whole.

I then had you read these two articles, one for an Alaskan paper titled McCandless: Hero or Dumb Jerk?, and the other by Krakauer titled “How Chris McCandless Died.” Read both for tomorrow.

HOMEWORK: Your personal narrative final is due tomorrow. Please have a clean, hard copy ready to turn in along with all drafts/edit sheets.
