English 10: Crucible A to Z and “Why I Wrote The Crucible”

We began the day getting out our notebooks and reflecting on our hopes for 2015 and making promises to ourselves or others (we wrote down three of each). You shared one with me verbally.

We then created, also in our notebooks, an A to Z list for The Crucible, creatively using the alphabet to remind ourselves of things that happened in the play i.e. A is for Abigail because she’s the catalyst that starts the whole hysteria. They each needed to be detailed. We are turning in our notebooks on Wednesday.

When you were done, you got a stamp and then picked up Arthur Miller’s 1996 essay titled “Why I Wrote the Crucible.” Your job is to read it in its entirety and annotate for tomorrow.

Also, do not forget to upload your Crucible Diary Project by 11:59 pm tonight. You must bring the authentic hard copy to class tomorrow.
