Honors 11: Ch. 1 Characterization and Keats

We began the day by finding quotes about or from Tom, Daisy and Nick that worked to help us as readers characterize and understand who these characters are at only the sort of peripheral reading we have now through Nick’s narration in Ch. 1. We shared and discussed. Next, I passed out this “At-a-Glance” look at Enlightenment vs. Romanticism. Use this for reference. We read through it today and talked about what it could mean. We then began delving into Keats’ poem, “Ode to a Nightingale” using several different lenses for understanding as we read. We will continue tomorrow.
