English 10: Smoke Signals/Final Essay Assignment

A calendar for the rest of the semester is attached.

You first took a pre-writing quiz to see what you know about essay/paragraph construction. These will be graded for improvement. Your score will not count against you.

Next, I assigned the final essay for the Anthem unit. The first option will allow you to use the paragraphs you already have written for summer reading. The second option will not allow you to utilize work you’ve already done, yet in a sense it will, as you have already written 2 body paragraphs for practice and a 4-paragraph essay. Adding one more paragraph to an essay should be no problem. 🙂

Option A: How you, Equality and your summer reading character impact society.

Option B: How Equality is a hero and how he will impact society.

We also continued watching Smoke Signals considering the ideas of individualism and identity with our T-Chart. We will finish the movie tomorrow. We got to about the hour mark if you were absent. It is on instant play on Netflix.
